SENIOR EVENTS MANAGER ACHIEVES CVP DESIGNATION DURING IAVM VENUECONNECT IN CHICAGO

Chicago, IL – Ashley Peacock, Senior Events Manager at the SMG Managed Cox Business Center in downtown Tulsa, received the Certified Venue Professional (CVP) designation at the International Association of Venue Managers (IAVM) VenueConnect conference in Chicago.

IAVM represents public assembly venues around the globe, and its mid-level senior professionals CVP recognizes both a commitment to the venue management industry and deep professional experience.

“Ashley celebrated her birthday by taking the Certified Venue Professional exam and passing it isn’t so much a birthday gift as it is a reflection of the skills and knowledge she has acquired in the industry,” said Assistant General Manager Angie Teel, CMP. “We’re proud of her designation and proud to have her on the SMG Tulsa team where we greatly benefit from her experience and her desire to always learn more and grow with the team.”

Ashley received a Bachelor of Business Administration and minor in Theatre from Texas A&M University-Corpus Christi, and also worked as a stage manager or festival manager for over 50 events for the University’s School of Arts, Media, and Communications. Upon graduation she managed events and supervised event and operations staff for the Amarillo Civic Center Complex before joining Cox Business Center in 2018.  

A member of IAVM since 2017, Ashley has served on the Region 6 Biennial Conference planning committees twice, maintained social media for Region 6, co-chaired the IAVM 2019 Regional Futures Leaders Conference, and currently serves on the Young Professional committee. The IAVM 94th Annual VenueConnect conference and Trade Show is taking place at the McCormick Place Convention Center in Chicago July 22-24, 2019.
